Hard questions in hard times: can hope rise in Cuba?
It might be hard to believe, but often with less than 3 hours of power every 24 hours, the people of Cuba are having to revert to cooking with charcoal fires. Propane gas for cooking is hard to find and very expensive. The famous Cuban ration book - which helped provide basic Cuban needs for many decades has also been eliminated. Many children and teenagers are required to attend school only to receive one or 2 classes all day due to the mass exodus of teachers who earn less than $12 per month for their salary.
These are the tip of the iceberg of so many other areas of society that are in absolute collapse. Can it get even worse than this? Sadly the answer will continue to be "yes".
Yet in the middle of this desperation, the good news of the gospel is bringing 1000's of people to true life and new hope as they place their faith in Jesus. One amazing harvest where God moved powerfully was with Pastor Junior's church. After much preparation, training, and prayer, this group of believers made a full day of planned visits to some 167 individuals. Incredibly, 94 people, moved by God, publicly put their faith and trust in God. Now this church is having to step up to providing follow up to 76 of these new believers who showed interest in being discipled. During this same outreach, 5 bibles and 60 new testaments were given out, medical attention and supplies were shared and basic food items were provided to the desperately needy.
Another beautiful example of this outpouring of God's movement was at a Good Friday service where our friend Pastor Marcos serves. After some very powerful drama presentations of the "Easter Passion", and a clear gospel message over 12 adults came forward to publicly accept Jesus.

Getting to personally be a small part of a big miracle !
His mercies are new every morning and His miracles are seen everywhere.
HE PLACES HIS WORDS IN OUR MOUTHS
We come to the Cuban people with little of our own to give—no great resources or solutions—only our presence, our love, and a willingness to listen, to serve, and to simply be there. Yet time after time, we are amazed as God does what He promised (Isaiah 51:16; Jeremiah 1:9), placing His words in our mouths. It’s humbling to witness how He uses our small offering to touch hearts, speak truth, and bring lasting impact in ways we never could on our own.
