Cuba: An urgent call to action
1 John 1:5
One of our Cuban partners wrote about the crisis saying:
currently experiencing an unprecedented crisis that has put the entire population in survival mode.
All services have been suspended, hospitals have collapsed, and food markets are closed due to a
lack of electricity and resources. Families have no way to cook, and the little food they had is
running out or spoiling because of the power outage.
No one knows how much longer this terrible situation will last, but our suffering people are on
the brink of despair.
We have only a few hours of electricity a day and almost no drinking water.
We know that this is the fruit our nation is reaping from the foolishness and poor decisions of its
leaders. We cry out for God's mercy and for a change that pleases the Lord and brings blessings
to our land.” Pastor Heber.
These past few days we have been in close contact with our Cuban partners and are deeply moved by the challenges they face. With frequent and prolonged power outages across Cuba, daily life has become a struggle. Many are left without basic necessities—dark homes, appliances being ruined due to power surges, loss of food, no relief from the heat at night, and no way to charge phones to stay connected with their communities.
In response, we are prayerfully trusting God to help provide battery backup systems for pastors' homes and churches. These systems will offer low-voltage lighting, fans for sleeping, and allow for the charging of essential devices like cell phones, laptops, lanterns, and powering sound systems used during worship services when electricity is off.
Our desire is to bring this equipment with us during our next trip in December. Each system, including truck battery and wiring (which can be purchased locally in Cuba) will cost approximately $1,000. Our goal is to supply at least 15 pastors and churches - a target goal of $15,000 to make this possible.
The need is urgent. As one pastor’s wife, Zulema, shared with us, her community near Havana faces not only physical hardships but also spiritual darkness, being surrounded by practices like Santeria. Yet, even in this challenging environment, their church is growing, bringing light to those who need it most. Her message reminds us that, though the situation is dire, God has not abandoned His people.

Would you prayerfully consider sponsoring one of these pastors or churches? If a full sponsorship isn’t possible, any gift—no matter the size—will make a significant impact. Now more than ever, we have the opportunity to show our love and support for our Cuban brothers and sisters in Christ.
Please also join us in prayer for these local churches. We trust that, through this season of suffering, the Gospel will continue to shine brightly, bringing hope and life to many.
With gratitude and grace,
Carl and Kathy Most
