APRIL 2016: 20 New Church Plants in 2016

April sees Kathy & I back in Nicaragua, enjoying being “at home” and reconnecting with our friends and ministry partners here.

Even though details, like having to adjust to the daily temperatures of around 99F/37C, has been difficult, other matters have been very encouraging to us.  One such case is the progress happening in the church planting efforts that we at the Nehemiah Center are supporting in Nicaragua.

Having completed the church strengthening program that our center offers, 10 of the churches are ready, excited and prayerfully moving forward to strategically plant 20 new churches this year in Esteli.  A region which lies in the central part of this country.

Having recently begun the church planting training course, these churches have already completed their strategic planning process and have focused on strengthening their skills for evangelism.  They will be now focusing on discipleship and small group training.

Pastor Henry Cruz, our Nehemiah Center co-ordinator of this program, especially caught my attention when he said “we cannot forget that these classes also provide a beautiful time of “koinonia” fellowship between pastors and other church leaders.  These are moments to strengthen relationships and to learn together as they share experiences”.

Please pray for these churches and their efforts to plant these 20 new churches in 2016.  As they move forward, we trust in the Lord of the harvest, Jesus Christ, to go before each of them, reaching many souls and establishing his light and truth in so many needy communities.
