CUBA – Graduation Class
1st Graduation Class in Cuba Leaves Us Hungering For More
“Finally, brothers and sisters, rejoice! Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.” II Cor 13:11
Invited pastors, seminary presidents, and loved spouses came to honor and celebrate the achievements of our first ever “Mission for Restoration” graduation class. It was an awesome day of praise, thanksgiving, testimonies and vision casting, as our graduates each considered how God was now going to use them to pass on this training course, and missional focus, to the churches and seminaries they are connected too.
For all of you who know Carl well, you can imagine that amongst the celebrations were also many tears of joy. The vision of serving the church of Cuba, laid on our families hearts by the Lord way back in 1996 had now become a reality.
Of course this graduation does not mean and end, but rather a very exciting beginning to so much more that the Lord has planned for the equipping of His church there in Cuba.
Please be in prayer with us about the plans for our next evaluation and 2nd phase planning trip in October. A small team of six leaders is trying to raise funds to cover the expenses of this trip ($1000 per person). If God touches your heart and you are able to help towards this need, please contact us or our mission.
A few words from the graduates concerning this training:
“This course has blessed me, challenged me, got under my skin and made me more sensitive. I give thanks to God for the changes in the way I see people around me, the way I treat them and try to share Jesus with them. It has not been easy, but what is, in this walk with Christ?” Zulema Vega.
“The Lord has truly transformed my life. He has changed my way of seeing the city where He has placed me, He has challenged me to work on the broken relationships in my own family, and has called me to go and work with the marginalized of our society” Marcos Arabi.
